Suspended on Merchant Center? Scan before you request review.

Most suspensions get a second rejection because merchants request review before identifying the actual issue. This page walks through the categories of suspension Google issues, what each one usually means, and lets you scan your store for possible matching issues — before you click 'Request review'.

The four most common suspension categories

  • Misrepresentation — most common (~70% of suspensions). Trust, identity, policy, and feed-page consistency issues. Misrepresentation checker →
  • Website needs improvement — storefront isn't ready for review. Trust pages, policies, contact info. Website checker →
  • Suspicious payments — checkout flow, payment method visibility, processor consistency, refund process.
  • Policy violations — restricted/prohibited products, healthcare/financial categories, intellectual property concerns.

The honest path to reinstatement

  1. Identify the specific suspension category (in Merchant Center → Account issues).
  2. Scan your store for matching issues before any action.
  3. Fix policy + trust + identity signals first.
  4. Verify changes are live and reachable from common navigation paths.
  5. Build third-party trust signals (Trustpilot, social, DMCA).
  6. Wait 48 hours so Google can re-crawl, then request review with a specific message.
Important

Most accounts get a limited number of review requests before a longer cooldown. Don't request review until you've actually fixed the underlying issues and confirmed they're live.
