Google Shopping product feed — fix issues before submitting
A product feed full of missing attributes, mismatched prices, or weak categorisation will get items disapproved — sometimes silently. This page walks through the 20 product fields Google reads, what makes each one strong, and what trips reviewers up.

Our scanner reads your product pages and reports possible issues: weak titles, missing structured data, price mismatches, low-quality images, missing GTIN/brand fields, and more. Independent tool, no signup needed.

Every product in your feed should have the right value for these 20 fields. Missing fields aren't always rejected, but they reduce how often your product is shown and increase the chance of misrepresentation flags.
- Product title — must match the title on your product page exactly. No keyword stuffing.
- Description — real product description, not template language. 150–300 words is typical.
- Image quality — real product photo, white or neutral background, no text overlay, ≥800px wide.
- Price — identical between feed and landing page. Cart total must match too.
- Sale price — use only when the storefront shows a real strikethrough/sale. Avoid permanent fake discounts.
- Availability — must match real stock state. 'In stock' for sold-out items is misrepresentation.
- Brand — fill for any branded product. Generic-brand stores can use their own brand.
- GTIN — the manufacturer barcode. Required for most branded products.
- MPN — manufacturer part number. Required when GTIN is unavailable.
- Product type — your own classification, used in your store. Useful for Shopping campaign segmentation.
- Google product category — Google's taxonomy. Pick the deepest accurate category.
- Color — plain English ("navy blue", not hex). Required for apparel and home goods.
- Size — plain values (S, M, L; or 32W 30L). Required for apparel.
- Gender — male / female / unisex. Required for apparel.
- Age group — newborn / infant / toddler / kids / adult. Required for apparel.
- Shipping — feed shipping must match Merchant Center shipping settings; mismatches trigger flags.
- Condition — new / used / refurbished. Must match the product page description.
- Custom labels (0–4) — optional, but useful for grouping products in Shopping campaigns.
- Supplemental feeds — extra feed that overlays attributes onto your primary feed. See the supplemental feed builder.
- Structured data on product page — JSON-LD Product schema with price, availability, image. Google compares this against your feed.
Five feed mistakes that get items disapproved silently
- Price mismatch — feed says $24.99, product page says $26.99. Disapproval, often without notification.
- Wrong currency — feed currency does not match the country you target.
- Title stuffed with keywords — "Best Buy Cheap Sale Premium Quality Shirt" gets demoted.
- Image with text overlay — "SALE 50% OFF" stickers on the product image = disapproved.
- Wrong Google product category — category set to 'Apparel' for an electronics product reduces match rate.
